Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana Haryana 2025 – Financial Support of ₹21,000 for Girl Child to Promote Education and Gender Equality

The Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana is a flagship welfare initiative launched by the Government of Haryana to promote the birth, survival, and education of girl children in the state. Under this scheme, a one-time amount of ₹21,000 is invested with the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) in the name of the first girl child of Scheduled Caste (SC) or Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and the second girl child of all families, irrespective of caste, religion, or income. Introduced to address gender imbalance and encourage positive attitudes toward daughters, the scheme ensures financial security for the girl child upon turning 18 years of age. With effect from 24th August 2015, the scheme was further expanded to include the third girl child in all families across Haryana.

Objective of the Scheme

The main objective of the Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana is to:

  • Improve the child sex ratio in Haryana by encouraging families to welcome the birth of a girl child.
  • Ensure the survival, health, and education of girls by providing long-term financial support.
  • Promote gender equality and reduce discrimination against daughters.
  • Support the financial empowerment of girls and their families for future education or marriage.

Benefit Provided

  • The Government of Haryana invests ₹21,000 with LIC of India in the name of each eligible girl child.
  • The amount is paid to the girl child when she attains 18 years of age.
  • Coverage includes:
    • First girl child of SC/BPL families (born on or after 22nd January 2015).
    • Second girl child of all families (born on or after 22nd January 2015).
    • Third girl child of all families (from 24th August 2015 onwards).
  • In the case of twin or multiple girl births, ₹21,000 is invested per girl child.
  • Till now, 4,60,347 beneficiaries have been covered under this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible under the scheme, the following conditions must be met:

  1. The first girl child of SC/BPL families born on or after 22nd January 2015 is eligible.
  2. The second girl child of any family born on or after the same date is eligible, regardless of caste or income.
  3. The third girl child of any family is also covered if born on or after 24th August 2015.
  4. In case of twin or multiple girl births, all girls are eligible.
  5. At least one parent must be a resident or domicile of Haryana, and both parent and child must reside in Haryana.
  6. The pregnant woman should be registered at the nearest Anganwadi Centre or with the Health Department.
  7. The birth of the girl child must be officially registered.
  8. The girl child should have an Aadhaar number (or Aadhaar of parents at the time of registration).
  9. The immunization record must be complete and attached with the application.
  10. The girl must be enrolled in an Anganwadi Centre according to her age.

  • Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) Number
  • Birth Certificate of the girl child
  • Residence Proof (Ration Card, Voter ID, Electricity Bill, or Telephone Bill)
  • Caste Certificate (for SC families only)
  • BPL Certificate (for BPL families only)
  • Tikka Report / Immunization Card (to verify timely vaccinations)
  • Bank Passbook Photocopy (showing account details)
  • Aadhaar Card of parents and/or girl child
  • Passport-size Photograph

How to Apply (Step-by-Step Process)

  1. Visit the Official Portal:
    Go to the Saral Haryana Portal.
  2. Register as a New User:
    Click on “New User? Register Here” and fill in basic details to create your login ID.
  3. Login to the Portal:
    Use your credentials to log in and search for Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Yojana under available services.
  4. Fill the Application Form:
    Enter all required details such as PPP Number, child’s name, birth details, and parent information.
  5. Upload the Required Documents:
    Attach scanned copies of documents like Birth Certificate, Caste/BPL Certificate, and Bank Passbook.
  6. Submit the Application:
    Review all details and click “Submit.”
  7. Note the Application Number:
    After submission, note down the application number for tracking purposes.
  8. Track Application Status:
    You can check the status anytime on the same portal using your application number.

RTS Time Limit

The Right to Service (RTS) time limit for processing applications under this scheme is 60 days. This ensures timely verification and approval so that families can receive confirmation of their investment without delay.
