The Ikyugkha Initiative in Rajasthan takes this on as a guardian for its at-risk youth-from the first breath of life up to 18 years, laying a solid foundation of safety, nurturing, and all-round growth for those who do not get a secure family environment.
Under this scheme, the government arranges:
- Caretaking and supervision of the child,
- Economic support to the family or guardian,
- Educational and social protection, and
- Ensures the child’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are properly met.
The main purpose is to offer protection and security to those children who lose one or both parents or whose parents are incapable of taking care of them. Who is an Eligible Child?
The child must fall into one of the following categories:
- Orphan child
- Child whose parents have died due to an accident or illness
- Child of a single mother receiving widow pension
- Child of a remarried mother
- Child of a woman who is HIV-positive / AIDS-affected
- Child of parents affected with serious disease
- Child whose mother’s identity is unknown
- Child from Specially Disabled Parents
- A child from a violence-affected/abandoned mother
- Children placed under legal or court protection
Required Documents
The applicant (guardian/parent) must submit the following:
- Child’s category certificate (as applicable)
- Death certificate of parents (if applicable)
- Widow pension sanction order copy (if applicable)
- Remarriage proof (if applicable)
- Medical disability proof / medical certificate (if applicable)
- Aadhar card of child and guardian
- Address proof (residence proof)
- Income certificate (as per eligibility)
- Bank account details of the child (Happiness Card / Payment ID)
- Birth certificate of the child
- Enrollment proof from Anganwadi / school
- Child care and supervision certificate
Financial Assistance (Amount given under the scheme)

Important Conditions
- Annual family income must not exceed ₹1.20 lakh.
- The child and guardian must be residents of Rajasthan for at least 3 years.
- “Happiness Card” is mandatory for benefits.
- The “Income Certificate” and child’s “Basic Identity Card” must be updated regularly.
Application Process
- Contact your nearest e-Mitra Center.
- Submit all the required documents and a duly completed application form.
- The application will be verified and forwarded to the concerned district office of Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
- Approved assistance shall be transferred to the beneficiary bank account every month.

Purpose of the Scheme
The scheme guarantees that children:
- Do not lack food, shelter, or basic care,
- Get proper education,
- Receive emotional and social security, and
- Grow with dignity and in a supporting environment.
The Scheme works as life support to the children in unfortunate circumstances and ensures that no child remains deprived of basic needs because of the loss or incapability of parents.
