The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released the Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 05/2025 for the recruitment of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts across various zones of Indian Railways. A total of 2569 vacancies have been announced under this recruitment drive.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 1 January 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 33 years
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per length of service (up to 8 years relaxation)
- Railway Staff (with 3 years’ service): Up to 45 years (depending on category)
- Widowed/Divorced Women: Up to 40 years (depending on category)
Candidates must ensure their date of birth matches the one recorded in their 10th/Matriculation certificate. No request for change will be accepted later.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must possess the prescribed educational or technical qualification from a recognized institute or university as on 30 November 2025.
Candidates awaiting their final results are not eligible to apply.

Selection Process
The recruitment will consist of the following stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Single-stage online examination.
- There will be negative marking of 1/3 marks for each incorrect answer.
- Normalization of marks will apply for multi-shift examinations.
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination
The final selection will be based on merit in the CBT, followed by successful document and medical verification.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Candidates can apply to only one RRB and must carefully choose their preferred zones and posts.
- Submitting applications to multiple RRBs will lead to rejection of all applications.
- Candidates must create an account on the RRB portal before applying. Once created, the account details (mobile number, email ID, etc.) cannot be changed.
- Modification Window: Candidates can edit their application details (except RRB choice and account information) between 3 December and 12 December 2025 by paying a modification fee of ₹250 per change.
- Candidates are encouraged to verify their identity through Aadhaar or DigiLocker during account creation for easier processing.
- All recruitment-related updates such as exam dates, admit cards, and results will be communicated via SMS and Email.
- Candidates must not bring banned items like mobile phones, calculators, books, watches, or bags to the examination hall.
- Pens will be provided at the exam center; candidates should not carry their own.
Medical Fitness
Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards for the respective posts. Those found medically unfit for the post will not be offered an alternative appointment.
